Rétro Graffiti

PORTRAIT

Rétro Graffiti is a jazz duo from Reims, active since 2015, which skillfully blends retro and contemporary styles. Their musical universe oscillates between nostalgia and modernity, captivating listeners with elegant and daring arrangements. Through their reinterpretations of cult classics from various genres, they take us on a musical journey that draws as much from the heritage of jazz as it does from resolutely contemporary influences.

The name of the project says a lot about their identity: “Retro” because the duo revisits iconic songs, reinventing them in a jazz aesthetic; “Graffiti” as a free and spontaneous artistic signature, reflecting their musical approach. Their ambition is clear: to convey their love of music and the emotions it evokes in them, with sincerity and generosity.

ARTISTIC JOURNEY

Self-taught, the two musicians draw inspiration from a wide range of influences: new wave, pop, rock, metal, and of course jazz. This richness is reflected in their arrangements, where styles intersect and respond to each other, always with subtlety.

Rétro Graffiti is also very active on the local scene. The duo performs regularly at iconic venues such as Le Clos, Monkey’s Barrel House, The Market Brew House, as well as several champagne houses in Reims and the surrounding region.

Recently, they released a remarkable cover of Jamiroquai’s Cosmic Girl,” a song they are particularly fond of and which perfectly illustrates their ability to transform popular songs into true jazz experiences.

Rétro Graffiti is an invitation to rediscover classics in a new light, to dance to the jazz of yesterday with the energy of today, and to let yourself be carried away by lively, sensitive, and inspired music.
